THE RIGHT WORD - with Brother Scott
(2 Corinthians 5:16) ~ (Galatians 6:14) ~ (2 Corinthians 15:33)

Listen :

As a new creation “in Christ”, we are made part of something new and very different than what we were and had known before our new birth. As a new creature, we literally are each a new living being having become a new classification of living creature that stands outside man’s designations of genus, sub-genus and species for all life on this planet.

We are a redeemed man or woman, forgiven and washed clean of sin, and with a healed and regenerated spirit but also now
indwelt by the Holy Spirit of the eternal God.

As factual and actual, we are not angels but are similar in many ways as are the holy angels of God insomuch as we are no longer simply a human being (whether before or after the fall into sin), [we] do not belong to this world but to Heaven, we are qualified to be given spiritual (that is to say supernatural) gifts, and we have been spiritually deputized with authority over demons and recognized by the fallen angels as a force to be taken seriously about, if we will walk in the power of the Lord Jesus Christ.

As far as I have been able to understand these things, there is no other created being that has the Spirit of God living within it whereby it [we] can uniquely hear from God, if we will pay attention to His voice. As a new creation there is this reality—we are given a new “estate”, as the Bible refers to it in Jude.

Listen to what Peter said and see if you can perceive that he, too, is relating a reality to us that is about a people and culture that now exists for those born-again from above.

( )
† 1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers (alien resident, foreigner) and pilgrims (resident foreigner), abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul. . .
Alien : Owing allegiance to another country or government. Belonging to, characteristic of, or constituting another very different place and society; one dissimilar in nature [to what is the normal].
( )
† Ephesians 3:9 [Paul says, I am] …to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: 10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, 11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: 12 In whom we have boldness and access [in the view of those principalities and powers] with confidence by the faith of him. . .
[Translation: Paul was and we are by our callings and the Spirit within [we are] to display God’s power and carry out His plans in this present world no matter the resistance of the evil ones of these powerful fallen angel ranks. Such activities show the evil forces arrayed against God and us how *beyond superior* God is in His wisdom, power, and ability to use Spirit-filled, obedient members of the Body of Christ to fulfill all His plans and purposes. Paul adds to these thoughts these things:]
† Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

† Mark 16:17 [Jesus declared:] And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. [And as to our “new estate” we can learn from this:]

† Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate (beginning [state of existence, ordained created place]), but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. [We are born-again into a new estate, a new class of created beings as a plan and work of God that even His holy angels are awestruck by and watch closely († 1 Peter 1:12)]

Estate : Refers to a person’s condition or circumstances. A class or rank or condition of life.

Brothers and Sisters PLEASE NOTE This:

How we view ourselves and how we live-out our remaining days in this present world as a new creature, requires and involves a dramatic change to our view of ourselves and our view of the world we still inhabit—albeit temporarily.

Our new view requires a change that looks at our former culture as passé (past or gone by); it is a change in our view and our lives that is quite dramatic and what is called a “paradigm shift”, which has a far-reaching spiritual significance in its scope when we fully grasp its reality and live up to it more and more fully.

Paradigm Shift : A radical change in thinking from an accepted point of view to a new one, necessitated when [in our case, freshly revealed and understood spiritual truth] produces anomalies in the current paradigm (a departure from the normal or common order of things). It is a radical change in thinking from an accepted point of view to a new belief; a major change in the process by which something is understood and things accomplished [Again Eph. 3:10-12].
We are now to live with a view of the world based on what our Bibles teach us; this is called a biblical worldview, which recognizes that although we still live in the world, we no longer belong to it and have power to live very differently than before our new birth. Like the holy angels, our home is Heaven, our lives to be also holy, and our perfect allegiance is to God and His Savior, Jesus Christ.

From parts one and two, we are taught that we are part of the Body of Christ, the church, we are to love without limits and can if we will deny all prejudices, we have a Holy Book that reveals God to us and teaches us how we are to live as new living beings on loan to the earth, we have the means to live free of sin, guilt, shame, offense and hurt by the humilities of repentance and forgiveness received and given, and we are now children of an eternal Father and members of an everlasting family—we are forever brothers and sisters.

Continuing on in our understanding of the elements of our “new creature culture” is this: Included as a characteristic of our status as new living beings are several principles of God’s kingdom that are active today, such as “give and it shall be given”, and “whatsoever a man sows that shall he reap”. And these: “With what measure a man uses so shall he be given,” and “if a man uses what he has he shall be given more, if he does not, he shall loose what he had.” These things are captured in several teachings of our Lord and most succinctly are known as this: The kingdom of Heaven’s law of sowing and reaping.

Some examples of things we must sow
in order to reap their benefits are these:

The continual plantings of the seed of the Word of God in our hearts and the caring of that seed for its growth (the parable of the sower), we must sow the seed of faith (it, too, is sown a small seed but must be fed by the Word, and strengthened and exercised by our choosing to trust God for our faith to grow strong), [sow] mercy, friendship, the sharing of our money, time and abilities, peacemaking, and broadcasting the seeds of the Gospel.

Some of these things (like mercy, friendship, and being generous with others) also benefit the non-Christian but the practice of all these things are especially potent for the disciples of our Savior and true children of God.

Our new culture includes sowing and reaping—an important principle of the kingdom of God that is easy to see in the lives of those that do. It is the practice of the giving of ourselves in various ways and means as ones part of a new culture.

† Mark 4:24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given [more]. 25 For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.

† Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: 38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

† Galatians 6:6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto (share with) him that teacheth in all good things. 7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith [our new family members].

† Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

† Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

† 2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. . .

† 1 Corinthians 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. 8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. 9 For we are labourers together with God. . .

† James 3:18 ...the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

† Philippians 4: [We also sow these things by our lives:] 4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God [sow these things…]. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

A newborn human baby must be appropriately nourished, loved-on, talked-to, and in other ways cared for. From that stage in life, each person passes through many stages in his or her life acquiring knowledge and understanding and experience that accumulate and better equips the person to become an independently moral and ethical participant in the culture he lives in.

In a healthy and traditional environment (no longer so today, but nevertheless) by the time young adulthood is achieved, he is able to think for himself, stand on his own, and begin making useful contributions to the society he belongs to, as well as to provide for him or herself by one honest means or another.

So it is with one becoming a true follower of Jesus—we are to grow in knowledge, understanding, experience, and in an expanding faith in God to the place where we become spiritually discerning and stalwart and begin to fulfill the details of the new culture we are made part of, if we will embrace it.

† Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. 9 O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. 10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

† 1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

† Hebrews 5:11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. 12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
(Also † 1 Cor. 3:2)

We have  one more segment  to cover under this title, which will directly address the components of  how a culture is defined  as it relates to  the NEW one  we are joined to as  NEW CREATURES

( )
† Psalm 112:1 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. 2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever. 4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. 5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. 6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. 7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD. 8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies. 9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour. 10 The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
