THE RIGHT WORD - with Brother Scott
(2 Corinthians 5:14) ~ ~ ~ (Galatians 6:14)

Listen :

As I began to move into last week’s discussion called Opportunities, I referenced how a citizen from another country coming to live in the United States would either just come to enjoy what could be had in our country and not seek citizenship or he would take the steps to at some point give up his former citizenship and become a naturalized citizen of this country with all its rights, privileges and responsibilities.
It is the same with people associating with true Christians and their legitimate churches. Many affiliate with Christians because of church programs for the children or single adults, seniors or couples, or because the preacher is a good entertainer, or other reasons but they are not willing to give their lives to Jesus Christ and become born again—literally become a new creature. But for he or she that hear the Gospel message, understand it, believe it and profess faith in Jesus and are born again as (“literally”) a new creature, they have become joined into a new culture also.

The cultural differences between non-Christians
and pretend Christians versus true Christians
are set forth in our Bibles

The cultural differences between non-Christians and pretend Christians versus true Christians are set forth in our Bibles and are to be as different from one another as the cultures are of Haiti or the spiritually darkest parts of African when compared to how we are in the USA.

Being a genuine Christian means that a person has become more than just “naturalized” but made new and become a citizen of the kingdom and rule of Almighty God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Christians are to learn of and practice the doctrines of our new citizenship and forsake anything of our past that violates the ways of God.

As new creatures (new living beings), we are part of a new culture that is set against our old culture yet one that we still live within; our new culture of life as members of the Church of the living God has aspects that define us, protects us, guide us, and sustains us while we temporarily continue to live within the old culture, which is a culture of death.

We must come to understand that when we were physically born, we each were already born as eternal beings but because of the sin nature we were born separated from God and have no life in ourselves. We must be born again as new living beings in order to have the life of God and an eternity united with Him.

( )
† 1 Corinthians 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with [have close friendships, rub elbows or socialize with] fornicators: 10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters [such have no place in the church]; for then must ye needs go out of the world.

† John 17: [As Jesus prayed, He said] 14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. 16 They are not of the world [like the 4 “beasts” of († Revelation 4) are not of the world], even as I am not of the world.

† 2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

† Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying [to God’s true people], Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

† Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for (struggle, compete for the prize) the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

† Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize [Jude contend/”compete for the prize”] of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

In these discussions, we are going to look at how our new creature culture differs from the world we emerged from yet one we must contend against while we are here; things that are important for you to know and for the most of them practice.
Culture : The set of dominate attitudes and behavior that characterize a group or organization...including [that group or organization’s] knowledge, language, beliefs, ordinances and practices, manners and customs, capabilities, values and attitudes, pursuits, and habits of the individuals in the group.
Among some of the first things that true Christians must come to know and adapt to is that we are each a member of the Body of Christ, from the neck down to the feet, and that Jesus is the Head of the Body we are part of.

Although we still live within the old culture that is ruled by sinful men and the devil for just a short time longer, we are no longer of it nor can we submit to the demands of its sinful tendencies and any immoral laws.

We are to abide by the good rules and righteous laws of the old world but not submit to what men demand of us that contradicts in any way what our Heavenly Legislator has made known are His moral laws and ways. In a contest of doing what man says that is wrong and doing what God says are His ways, we are to always go God’s way.

( )
† Ephesians 1:17 [I pray] That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him [part of our new culture]. . . 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. . . († Ephesians 5:23) For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

† Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

† Acts 4:18 And they [the Council] called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. . . 5:27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, 28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us. 29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Regarding our new creature culture, in these two areas we are to stand: We are to be unified members of the Body of Christ upon the earth and take our lead from Jesus as the Head of the Body, and when what man demands that contradicts what God says, we will not obey men. What are examples of such demands of men?
A FEW EXAMPLES OF THOSE ARE :

That we accept and participate even at the basic levels (implied approval by silence, use of “pronouns”, etc.) of man’s laws legalizing drug use, abortion, euthanasia, same sex relationships, and the various other confusion known as LBGT+ behaviors
That we submit to their injections and boosters. . .also that our young men serve in the military for unjust invasions and wars
That we do not pray in public (even silently) and do not share our testimony as Christians, not share the Gospel news with others including the use of the Name of Jesus, not quote verses from our Holy Bibles, and that we surrender of our Bibles when they become illegal to own
That we (one day) surrender our firearms—I remind you that we are to defend ourselves, our families and our homes, if necessary
That we (one day) only meet in state-approved churches and report anyone we discover violates these and other similar laws
And that we take the mark of the beast in order to buy needed things and even freely interact in our society
These issues exist today or will arise soon enough and we are to obey God and not man on such things. In our being born again from Heaven we have become (not in a fashion or sort-of but in actuality) strangers and aliens in this world.

We are new creatures in every way except the fact that we still look like human beings while the righteousness of Christ we are now clothed in cannot be seen nor the literal glory of His Person abiding within us, which the fallen angels and demons do see!

As members of the Body of Christ and the Church, we are part of a completely different species of beings that are neither angel nor original human beings and must live that way.

The next important aspect of our new culture is that of sincere love and without limitations. We will not allow ourselves set conditions by which we will love or not, and we are to love God and His Son with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength and our neighbor as ourselves.

The Word of God is replete with the commands and examples of such love for God and for mankind, even with men doing their best to persecute us, including to the point of our physical deaths. Our culture of Life is greatly helped along by its members walking in genuine love even when it is most difficult to do.

( )
† Mark 12:28 And one of the scribes came, and … asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? 29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. (Also † Matt. 22:37, † Lk. 10:27)

† John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

† Matthew 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven. . .

† 1 Corinthians 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (agape: love), I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. . . 13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. [. . .and there is this for some of us:]

† John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Our new creature culture is to be one of love for God, for the brethren, for non-Christians and even for our enemies. It is the very best of proofs to the lost that we are genuine followers of the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ.

We are new creatures and should not be surprised that there are new relationships, new responsibilities, and new requirements set forth from our Divine Father, which establish a culture that is very much not understood by or accepted by the world.

Let us be seen as aliens and strangers among those of the world. You are a new creature and are expected to live as such. There are several more elements to recognize, embrace and flow in that are part of Our "New Creature" Culture.

( )
† 1 Peter 2:7 Unto you therefore which believe—he [Jesus] is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; 12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

† Ephesians 3: [Paul wrote] 9 [I am] to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ [and we are to also “make men see”]: 10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, 11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: 12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. 13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory. 14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 [Part of our “new creature” culture:] Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. 20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
