THE RIGHT WORD - with Brother Scott
Listen :

[ A statement of fact about the people of God:  Many that hear these messages are likely to not believe them until the day when the warnings and biblical counsel become real in all our lives.

To disregard the spiritual experience and counsel of these messages would be like having to have major invasive surgery but without anesthesia.  Please listen carefully anyway! ]

I suspect that you’ve all heard the term “a get out of jail free” card from the popular board game Monopoly. In other instances, there is the phrase “a free pass” when something is required of everyone but certain ones are allowed an exemption to the requirement.

But more close to home is this term that so many believe and live their lives in anticipation of: The pre-tribulation rapture, which many consider a get out of jail free card or and free pass out of great trouble.

As we covered in the recent discussions called A Double-Edged Sword, there are several teachings out there that essentially have convinced many members of the Christian community that before the 7-years or 3 ½ years of trouble (however long you’ve been told the tribulation will last) that all Christians will be swept off the earth and into the safety of Heaven, while the chaos, destruction and worldwide deaths of billions happens below.

Hoping to set the record straight in your minds and hearts

Hoping to set the record straight in your minds and hearts, let me inform you where those false teachings first originate from; all verifiable should you feel the need to for your own peace of mind.

The pre- tribulation catching away of the true church teaching did not exist until about 500 years ago and it was published by members of the Jesuit order of the Roman Catholic Church by the names of Francisco Ribera, Luis de Alcanzer, and Cardinal Roberto Bellarimne, and later Emmanuel Lacunza (ranging from A.D.1537 to 1621 and then into the late 1700s).

It was one more aspect used to keep people loyal to the Catholic Church especially in light of the Reformers’ messages about that Church and its religious society’s several unbiblical practices upon its people.

According to the historical record, eventually by the mid-1800s a man named J.N. Darby picked up on the teaching and began preaching it around Europe and eventually the US and was soon adopted by CI Schofield (1843-1921) and was incorporated into the all-too well-known Bible known even today as the Schofield Reference Bible with abundant footnotes teaching and reinforcing the “pre-tribulation” false doctrine.

Now if you choose to believe this teaching anyway, I urge you to have a “Plan B” in case you see the tribulation has in fact begun and you and the believing church are all still here!

Now as a warning, if you believe that you will be taken
off the earth before the sorrows and great tribulation
of Matthew 24 begins, you will likely behave this way

1. You will not give much thought about facing great trouble and anguish but will be “business as usual” in your life and not be concerned much with deteriorating events in the world,
2. In that state of mind, you might be pretty lax in your relationship with God by believing that the rapture is your insurance policy against the great trouble prophesied,
3. Making physical preparations and the more important spiritual preparations of strong faith and trust in God is considered unnecessary by these beliefs, and
4. You might easily buy-into the beast system’s slow and subtle roll-out, including what might be an obscure and unrecognized introduction of “the mark of the beast”.

This is the “Ka-boom” moment I have mentioned that I hope you will take seriously: I believe (having no doubt and as do others also) that we will be here for much or all of the prophesied great trouble of the days before Jesus returns.

And yes, Jesus is coming soon and, in our lifetimes, no matter the mocking words of unbelievers and members of the many profane divisions (denominations) of the Christian church today.

If you will set aside what we have all been taught for years that has assured us “we-won’t-be-here” and read your Bibles, paying attention to how else what it warns us of can be understood by it (“study to show yourself approved of God, rightly dividing the Word”), you will discover that we have a rough go of it before Jesus returns even with strong faith being needed.

Please listen carefully to to what I say in today’s exhortation.

The crown of thorns that will be pressed upon our minds and hearts by our suffering is to always point us to the Lord and the Word—and also to the cross if there is sin in our lives.

When pain and suffering come upon us, look at it as a needed chastening by our holy God on still unresolved issues of our lives; issues of spiritual weakness, fears, doubt, or any “sin that dwelleth within us” that we have allowed to continue (Romans 7:14-21).

( )
† Hebrews 12:5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth (correction, training, education), and scourgeth (whips) every son whom he receiveth. 7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. 9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? 10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. 11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. 12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; 13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

There are and will be several ways in which we will suffer:

In our physical bodies, by some physical lack, by betrayals, by sudden or nagging fears brought on by lack or by threats against our lives and families, by enticements to doubt God, to seek other remedies not of God, by some emotional pain, and even distresses by arrests, confinements, and likely executions under antichrist rule.

Let us not forget that the impurities in precious metals only rise to the surface to be removed when intense heat is applied. It is no different regarding your and my soul.

Here are things I have learned through my own
mental & emotional sufferings over the last 11-12 years especially.

1. If you have issues that come up that in your mind you do not deserve or don’t understand why—examine yourselves, approach the Lord again about things that you may need to confess (again), be forgiven, and ask for His grace to endure the results of what feels like a disciplinary event.
2. We will suffer betrayals, which can only come by ones that know us, or worse, are close to us including good friends and even close family members (Jesus warned us of this). This suffering is hard to bear because it not only involves the pain of what the betrayal results in (public exposure and disdain, confiscation, arrest) but also the pain of having a loved or trusted individual turn against you for favor or profit,
3. Sufferings in our physical bodies can wear you down and will, if it is over an extended time or is an infirmity that is permanent. The mind and heart are prone to discouragement and its life-robbing evil step-sister depression, which adds an additional level of suffering to a person. It is one thing for others to cause you suffering but when your own body is in rebellion and breakdown without little or no recourse, it can be the most hurtful of suffering to endure,
4. Then there is the trouble we have with the sinful nature that might still continue to live within having a strong influence and power to cause us to sin. It has been said that there are some 130 traits of the (old nature, i.e. Gal. 5:19-21) of which even two or three can reproach and soil us before God and others unless taken to the cross, denied and put to death thereon,
5. Legitimate physical or emotional needs or desires that cannot be satisfied can affect our joy in Christ, will cause painful sadness and other internal turmoil and suffering (stubborn unsaved loved ones, loss of a loved one, intimacy between spouses becomes limited for legitimate health reasons, those that one day take the beast’s mark, etc.).

Now as I move ahead on today’s critical exhortation and also show you the indications in our bibles that what solutions I share with you against suffering are true, let me briefly mention for your understanding some of the areas having the value of hardship and suffering for the believer.

These and other areas can affect your relationship with God
either for good or in negative ways, if not helped by God.

Some of the main areas of our lives that can be the causes of pain and suffering are these: Physical health, family, other relationships, our money and possessions, unexpected events touching these areas, addictions of many kinds, wanting to go God’s way but shackled to our old ways, spiritual deficiencies in God’s plan in one’s life needing the rebuke and chastening of the Lord, betrayal, denial of needed help in the natural, suffering or death of loved ones and dear friends.

All these things and others not included can hinder our relationship with God and can be a trip-wire causing explosive damage to our faith in God. As an alternative, such issues can and should instead be the catalyst to run into the Presence of God for His mercy, grace, and needed support.

Please recall my over the years long-used advice that when you face trouble, “Go to God, ask for grace and worship Him”, that’s what Job did.

( )
† Hebrews 12:1 … let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking (appear before) unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
I share with you today the answer to all of these issues related to the crown of thorns, which by this situation or that are pressed down upon our minds and hearts.

I declare to you the prescribed response to our suffering that for the sincere child of God will help sooth pain, is able to help sweep away the scum of impurities clinging to our faith that rise to the mental or emotional surface of our beings, and will lead us forward in Divine comfort in spite of circumstances that might continue on.

THE LORD IS FAITHFUL AND HIS WORD IS TRUE

( )
† 2 Peter 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of no temptations (peirasmos: adversity, for the putting to the proof, by the experience of evil)*, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished. . .

† 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptations*; taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted (tested) above that ye are able; but will with the temptation* also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it (undergo the hardship, bear from underneath it, endure).

If we will and when we will seek it, the Lord by His Spirit and His written Word brought forth to our minds contradicts the negative—and releases the affirming comforts and helps of the heart of God toward us.
( )
† 2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation (thlipsis: pressure, anguish, persecution, burdens and trouble), that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. 6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
And what is the number one prescription by God’s Word for dealing with our personal sufferings—but to stop, acknowledge Him, and offer praise to our eternal God and Savior and stand in the hope of His care!

There is one tiny word in our bibles that has so much instruction for us in our pain and suffering; I know it to be absolutely true and the perfect response to my suffering in my body, or my mind or emotions, any financial situations, and other challenges to my life.

( )
† Psalm 42:5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope (wait on, be patient, trust) thou in God: for I shall yet [or but, still, at this time, for the present “now”] praise him for the help of his countenance (His face looking at me) ...

  [ also † Psalm 42:11, 43:5; that “tiny word” is “yet” ].

Yet: “Yet” is used as a conjunction to show contrast between two ideas that are opposed to one another, similar to “but”. Synonymous with the words still, beside this, at this time, for the present.

( )
† Psalm 71:12 O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help. . . 14 But [still, at this time, for the present “now”] I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more. 15 My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof.

† Psalm 119:109 My soul is continually in my hand: yet do I not forget thy law. 110 The wicked have laid a snare for me: yet I erred not from thy precepts. . . 143 Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me: yet thy commandments are my delights. . . 157 Many are my persecutors and mine enemies; yet do I not decline from thy testimonies.

† Job 13:15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.

† 2 Corinthians 4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. . . 6:10 As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. . . 12:8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

† 1 Peter 4:15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. 16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

When bad things happen to us or around us, let us rush to hide ourselves from their natural destructive effects by our faith in God.

Let us resort only to Him, within the secret place of the Most High and under His wing for relief from our sufferings though they might seem interminable— from our spirit, mind, heart and mouth let our knee-jerk reaction be to declare our praise of, reliance on, and trust in God our Savior.

This is what our suffering should bring forth & out loud from within us!

Follow through always in this manner of your pain and suffering and God will always use it for you now and for eternal good and to His glory—I promise you! For what lies in our future, in Isaiah, He says this to us, and we reply to Him from the Psalms:
( )
† Isaiah 26:20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. 21 For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

† Psalm 17:1 Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips. 2 Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal. 3 Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress. 4 Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer. 5 Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not. 6 I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech. 7 Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them. 8 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings, 9 From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

In part five, by the Divine prescription for our suffering that I shared with you today ("yet praise and worship"), I will relate personal examples of how praise unto God and worship in times of suffering works and makes a difference.
