THE RIGHT WORD - with Brother Scott         For a couple weeks we are going to test ourselves against the end-times phrase that the Apostle Paul uses: The love of the truth.
Listen :

What does it mean? What does love of the truth do for us and what are the consequences of “receiving not the love of the truth”?

We are alerted to this as professing Christians along with the related challenge that we be found having faith when Jesus returns—but the issue of “truth” is also God’s prophetic warning to the world that now is, in view of its sinful ways.

( )
† Luke 18: [To us, we are warned:] 7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

† 2 Thessalonians 2: [To all living on the earth in the last days before the return of Jesus:] 1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth (things not concealed but revealed, verity [the condition of being true, factual, or real]), that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Truth: the body of real things, events, and facts; that which is actual, the real facts about something. The quality of being true; the real facts about a situation, event, or person. Truth conforms to fact or actuality and extends from honesty, good faith, and sincerity in general. The word itself descends from older words and includes the accepted character of these words to represent: A promise, contract, covenant, firm, and solid. Common sayings used include, “To tell you the truth, the truth be told, the truth of the matter is…”
What Are  The Highest Examples  of Truth ???
What are the highest examples of truth that we as followers of Jesus and all living human beings today must absolutely pay attention to? It is not only what Jesus said that teaches us the truth but includes the entirety of what we read from († Genesis 1:1) through († Revelation 22:21).

We dare not be as Pilate was at the mention of truth by Jesus when the governor by his sarcasm relegated the thought of truth to things unimportant. The essential truth of our lives contains the basis for what we believe to be saved from our sins and to go on in a relationship with the Creator of all things, the Redeemer of the world, and the Judge of all men and women one day.

For the Christian, it (truth!) is to become a lifelong pursuit to seek, accumulate, and live according to the truth that is especially written in our Holy Bibles.

( )
† John 18:37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. 38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? [Philosophers don’t agree about it, cultures of the world don’t agree with others about it, for many truth is individually relative and can easily change due to circumstances, it often has little bearing in a sinful man’s action or illicit passion—though it’s meant to. Some examples of truth’s critical value to us are these:]

† John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word [seek to know and follow it], then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. . . 36 If the Son therefore shall make you free [by continuing in His word], ye shall be free indeed.

† John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

† John 17:14 [Father,] I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. . . 17 Sanctify (purify, make blameless, holy, set apart) them through thy truth: thy word (Gr. “logos) is truth.

We just concluded four weeks of study about the command of God that we “go and sin no more”—that you and I stop sinning. As an openly declared command in the Word, it is spoken in more than 5 places and more than just implied as a directive from Heaven in dozens of other passages in God’s Word to all His children.

It is part of the truth we must both understand and live by to have an unfettered relationship with the One True and Holy God. Yet—did you carefully listen to all that I said; did you hear the many Scriptural references that supported that command of God?

Did you think-on what you heard throughout your week and conclude in your heart that it was indeed true and something that you must endeavor to be known for by God (as one living with victory over sin)? A sickeningly high majority of professing-to-be Christians today either don’t know about this issue, or if they do know, they-don’t-care!

In the church today, love of the truth that is God’s Word is at a low-point nearing extinction levels. Not very many at all have “received the love of the truth” of God’s Word today among those that claim to be born again by His Spirit. And what does His Spirit say about the Word of God through the writers?

And what does His Spirit say about
The Word of God through the writers?
( )
† Psalm 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

† Psalm 119:89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. . . 105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. [Really, is it!?] . . . 140 Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it. . . 160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

† Psalm 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

† Matthew 24:35 [Jesus said:] Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

† 1 Timothy 3:15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth [now disputable in most western churches]. 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

† 1 John 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

† 1 John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

I don’t know how it is for others who love the truth of God’s Word but for me it was (as they say) “an acquired taste”. Reading it at first and for a time was like eating something that was good for me but I wasn’t fond of, however the more I ate it, the more it became palatable and eventually for many things like that, it became desirable.

The same can be true of a liquid medicine or needed physical exercise or other needed changes to my diet or habits; my point is that if believers will sit themselves down as a routine and read their Bibles, in time it becomes a good habit, easily practiced, and then a thing that is loved and lived.

Now whether a believer ever comes to the point of appreciating and loving God’s Word for its truth, to those that will faithfully read it, it nevertheless reveals necessary things that we must know, and must believe and live our lives mindful of—or we can easily be distracted by bad situations in our lives or the deceptions of this sinful world.

You and I here in the U.S. live in the most self-centered and self-serving culture on the planet, even to the point of many becoming completely narcissistic (“excessively preoccupied with themselves and what they need or want” [Gr. mythical figure Narcissus who fell in love with his own reflection]). It is precisely the nature of that kind of a person (whether a Christian or not) that the devils and the world Satan presently rules appeals-to in order to keep them from getting saved, or you and I from staying saved and going to Heaven.

If a person does not come to know the truth of God’s Word and increasingly live by it, he or she will face hardships that the world will offer solutions to that are not of faith and trust in God. The lost will be deceived and likely never be born again and many of those that have been born again will turn away and be lost; the Bible bears this out.

( )
† 2 Thessalonians 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away (defection from the truth, forsaking of, apostasy; from to separate or divorce from) first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition. . . 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness [the delusions] of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion (fraudulence, error causing to stray), that they should believe (have faith in) a lie (an untruth, deception): 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure (approve, think well of) in unrighteousness (moral wrongfulness).

† Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them [of the end times], Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. . . 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. . . 23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders († 2 Thess. 2:9); insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

We Must Know and Believe These
And Other Truths During These Last Days:

The One true God exists, as does our Creator and Savior Jesus Christ
The Holy Bible from Genesis to Revelation is the inerrant Word of God
The Bible’s prophecies prove the existence of an eternal, all-knowing God
By faith in it, there is power in shed blood of Jesus to save and against evil
Both Heaven and Hell exist, and the Lake of Fire is real
God is able to provide for us when food, water and protection are needed
Beings are coming that will lie about who and what they are and here to do
These aliens are among those Jesus said would claim to be Christ (saviors)

All who take the  “MARK OF THE BEAST”  will be cast into the Lake of Fire

What will be some of the bigger damning lies that people will believe?
The government will provide us what we need (needed vaxes, food, security)
E.T.’s are from ancient civilizations with advanced knowledge and tech
Non-earth visitors are our creators and are here to help us
There are no good or bad angels, demons, there is no hell or a Lake of Fire
An eternal God does not exist and Jesus was only an inspirational teacher
False teachers will say a Christian can take the “mark” and be forgiven

† Romans 2:5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; 6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds: 7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: 8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile. . .

† 2 Timothy 2:16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. 17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; 18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. . . 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

† Titus 1:14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. 15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. 16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

† 1 Peter 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: 18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. 22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying (attentive hearkening, to comply, submit to) the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

There Is  More To Be Said  About The “Truth”
There is more to be said about the “truth” and how to “receive the love of” it; it’s a warning that is not just pointed at the world! Stay tuned. /Bro. Scott
