On December 28, 2008 at approximately 6:07 p.m. officers responded to the intersection of Henderson Avenue and Second Street in the City of Porterville on a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian.
The Porterville Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team responded to investigate the collision.
The investigation revealed that an 80 year old female was walking southbound across Henderson Avenue in a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle which was traveling eastbound on Henderson Avenue.
The female was transported by ambulance to the City of Exeter where she was flown to the Community Regional Medical Center located in Fresno where she was later pronounced deceased.
The collision is still under investigation.
