THE RIGHT WORD - with Brother Scott
Listen :

I happened to listen to an exorcist recently who was a man with 30 years of experience dealing with the demonized. Someone being influenced or even controlled by a demonic spirit can be from outside the person’s body and soul or from within one or more of the components that make up a human being.

Now although the exorcist has been very successful at casting out demons, which is almost always physically and spiritually strenuous and requiring strong spiritual tools, he did have some defects in his theology.

Apparently those defects did not affect his effectiveness for which I am glad for those he has helped—He does know the Word of God, which is one of the tools I mentioned. As he was sharing about certain cases, he made a remark that the Holy Spirit checked me on to write down, and that was this statement:

“The demonic does not need an official invitation
[to enter into a life], just a spiritual gap.”

That statement is the subject of our lesson today and next week, which is about the “spiritual gaps” in the lives of non-believers and Christians also that provide open doors to demons and their masters, the fallen angels, to afflict with sickness, disease, mental, emotional, relational, and even financial trouble.

Often that trouble is very subtle and never recognized as the work of unclean spirits but at other times it can be extremely serious, can have obvious telltale signs recognized by those spiritually sensitive and alert, and can ruin many aspects of a person’s health, home life and other relationships, effect one’s career, and will at least sabotage a person’s relationship with God, if not cause a catastrophic separation.

I have seen this first-hand more than once.

The Bible’s four Gospels and the book of the Acts of the Apostles have much to teach us about this problem that plagues humanity.

Before discussing spiritual gaps, we will first go over some of the things that the Holy Scriptures teach us about evil spirits {2xs in Acts} (also known as: unclean spirits {10x’s}, spirit of an unclean devil {1x}[i.e. a daemonic being], foul spirit {1x} [impure, morally lewd (indecent, obscene], deaf and dumb spirit {1x} [what it causes], devil {many times} [daimonion: demonic being], a spirit of divination {1x} [a Python spirit; drains the spiritual life from individuals]).

Python spirit: A serpent spirit, a spiritual entity that is believed to suffocate and drain the spiritual life from individuals. It often manifests as feelings of weariness, hopelessness, as well as distractions from prayer and worship, which aims to hinder one’s relationship with God. This entity is believed today to be one and the same what is known as kundalini, now infecting many in church leadership as well as many church congregations. Common signs of this spirit are shaking, jerking movements, spasms, unusual laughter, altered states, seeming to be drunk, and prophetic visions not of God.

I also must point out that fallen angels are not demons

The Word’s specific use of words make it clear that these are two separate entities, although both are evil and cannot be redeemed.

While it is true that fallen angels are both spirit and evil they are a much higher category of spiritual creature than that of evil, unclean, foul “daimonions” as the Greek identifies them.

For your understanding, God created all the angel ranks from which one third of them
turned against God in Lucifer’s rebellion and were cast out of Heaven († Rev. 12:4).

Fallen angels can be outwitted and defeated by holy angels and resisted and thwarted by knowledgeable Christians but they cannot be killed and will never die. They are infinitely smarter than you and me but not God.

Fallen angels are not too interested in dealing with mere humans—unless he or she is a powerful world leader or top advisor, an important developer of new drugs or weapons of war (think mRNA and the Covid shots many bad affects in the human body), or he or she is a person very effective in Christian ministry and can threaten the evil plans and work of the Devil—[“devil”] another of Lucifer’s names but not the same Greek word used of demons that are also called devils.

 Regarding Satan and fallen angels

( )
† Revelation 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon (fascinating serpent). . . 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. . . 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil (diabolos/dee-ab’-ol-os: false accuser, slanderer, traducer [blame by falsehood]), and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels (angelos: angels) were cast out with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

† James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil [of temptations/ enticements, doubts and fears, confusion, etc.], and he will flee from you.

† 2 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger (angelos: angel) of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

† Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (diabolos). 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities (chief in rank over others), against powers (those assigned jurisdictions), against the rulers of the darkness (administrators of evil plans) of this world, against spiritual wickedness (supernatural depravity and malice) in high places [ruling over the earth from above]. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

† 1 John 5:19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

† Daniel 10:12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. 13 But the prince (ruler [Paul’s “powers”?]) of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings [Paul’s “spiritual wickedness”?] of Persia.

These passages were just a few of what the Bible reveals about fallen angels.

Now about demons: No demon has ever been in Heaven’s realm and neither are they the earth-roaming spirits of dead human beings somehow lost between heaven and hell (though demons pretend to be deceased family members or others).

However, demons are from an earth-born source but are not living beings created by God; demons are the disembodied spirits of dead giants from past eras. We glean this from what † Genesis 6 alludes to when angelic beings took human women for wives and begat divinely illegitimate, morally unlawful, hybrid angel-human children from human women.

(Do notice that there were no female fallen angels
taking human men as husbands as there are no female angels.)

These hybrids and their illegitimate offspring greatly multiplied upon the earth and were joined by other genetically altered creatures by the experimentation of the fallen angels on all living creatures that God had created perfect in their generations (genes; † Genesis 6:9).

The Book of Enoch clearly reveals that God rejected these abominations, would not allow them to be redeemed from their inherent illegitimate and wicked state, and condemned their spirits to roam the earth without form.

Demons long for a living-physical-abode (preferably human) and when a door is opened by a human being, a demon(s) will take up residence in a male or female, and even have been known to do so in young human beings.

It is not so stated in the Scriptures but is reasonably speculated that their
eternal future will be with their fallen angel fathers in the Lake of Fire.

( )
† Matthew 12:43 When the unclean (impure meaning daemonic) spirit (demon) is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. 44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty (vacant, owner on holiday), swept (by broom), and garnished (put in proper order, decorated, adorned). 45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. . .

† Mark 5:8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. 9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. 10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country. 11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. 12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. 13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

The Word teaches us that demons
are subject to two authorities
1. On the one hand, they answer in great fear to the chief devil, Lucifer ha Satan, and their fallen angel masters, who give demons assignments. And on the other hand,
2. They must comply with a believer commanding them by the Name of Jesus and by the declaration of the blood of Jesus against them.

Along with the Devil and his fallen angels, demons are also thieves and their purpose is to steal things from you, destroy your faith and obedience through compromise and sin, and one day even kill you if they can.

By not revealing themselves but being as quiet as possible in one’s life, the chief mission of demons is to cause the unsaved to reject the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that a person remains spiritually lost but also to cause the saved of God (including you) to eventually fail in their faith and turn away from God.

( )
† John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

† 1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Unclean spirits can tempt anyone as an unbeliever or as a follower of Jesus, and to “tempt” means “to entice” to do wrong or evil.

Of course, having been born with the sinful nature, a person doesn’t need a devil to get them to sin—we each can do a pretty good job breaking God’s laws, being selfish, wronging others, breaking our promises, being prejudice toward others, or being violent, hateful and vengeful, to name a few of the ways that we sin in the sight of God.

These things and a thousand other possibilities become a big red flashing light for evil spirits to, in some way, attach themselves to our lives and cause trouble.

If there is a reason to accuse us before God of wrongdoing or sin in our lives, there’s a pretty good chance such things (especially the serious sins we will talk about in part two) can also offer an opening for devils either externally or by entering into the man or woman for to influence thoughts and actions, directly affect the body by weakness, sickness, disease, blindness, deafness, dumbness, suicide, and other such ailments, or attack the soul with doubts, confusion, suspicion, envy, hatred, revenge, and so forth.

You do not want to have demons overlaying their character upon you in any way!

They are experts at manipulating your thoughts and plans, experts at enticing you to do sinful things, casting doubt, fear and confusion upon your mind and heart and a smothering blanket over your regenerated spirit, and their most favorite vices of all involve any manner of sexual gratification in any way they can get it (“sexual lust and gratification is the main appetite of demons”).

Satan, fallen angels and demons all can influence us in ways we would usually not recognize—at least without having lots of experience, knowledge of the Word, and the help of the Holy Spirit (addressed in Part 2).

( )
† Mark 8:31 And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. 32 And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him. 33 But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.

† Luke 22:1 Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover. 2 And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people. 3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve (also † Jn. 13:27). 4 And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them. 5 And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money. 6 And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.

And so with this part one, I have set the stage for the main discussion of what I believe you need to hear and understand about what the exorcist meant when he said,

“Demonic spirits do not need an official invitation to enter into a human’s life, just a spiritual gap.”

Have you opened doors or allowed spiritual gaps in your personal life or in your home, things that have permitted evil spirits to come and stay close to you for their work, or worse, opened yourself up by serious sins that have given them a way into your body or soul, making you their home to work their works of evil and sickness from the inside out of you?

As the Lord adds His blessing, next we meet we will expose what doors we can leave open or can still open and also what spiritual gaps we leave unattended by our laziness in spiritual matters.
