THE RIGHT WORD - with Brother Scott         In what I am sharing with you in these discussions is not to convince you to believe what I think about the Lord’s return for us but do hope to convince you from now until then to live an even more righteous and clean life than you are living today—no matter how well you think you are living for Him presently.
Listen :

We cannot change what the Bible has written as prophecy but it should have the effect of helping to change us; it proves the existence of an eternal God Who is all-seeing, all-knowing, and is present everywhere at once by His Spirit and Who exists outside of time knowing the future before it happens.

We'd do well  for ourselves to esteem  the Bible’s prophecies  and especially  the words of Jesus  with the highest regard
as they are written also for our instruction and help.
( )
† Matthew 17:1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. 4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. 5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

† Revelation 19: [Spoken possibly by the angel from chapter 17:1] 9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant (the servant of the same master as you), and of [as] thy brethren that have the testimony (evidence, record, report, witness) of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (inspired + prediction).

† 2 Peter 1:17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory [† Matthew 17:5], This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. 19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

In my lifetime as a church-goer, I've been led to believe
many things about what the yet unfulfilled
prophecies of the Bible mean.

In my lifetime as a church-goer, I have been led to believe many things about what the yet unfulfilled prophecies of the Bible mean. For some time I was happy to believe the so-called “pre-tribulation rapture” teaching; who wouldn’t want to believe that before the greatest trouble the world has ever seen begins that Christians would be taken off the earth?

Even in these more recent years, some Bible teachers much smarter than me taught and died believing the pre-trib rapture interpretation—men that I’ve had tremendous respect for and confidence in their understanding of the Holy Scriptures. Yet, what they taught stood against what other accomplished Bible teachers were saying, which was that believers would be here for at least most of the 1,260 days of great trouble and be caught away just before the 7-vials were released upon the earth († Rev. 16)—called a “pre-wrath rapture”.

At this time in my walk with the Lord, this is my stand, and I believe it should be yours as well: I will live each day like on any day by an unexpected physical death I will stand before Jesus or that He will come for His true followers at a time not presently known to us but only after certain events have taken place first according to the Holy Scriptures.

This flies in the face of the those that have taught the “doctrine of imminence”, which states that Jesus can return at any time including this very day. This does not agree with what Jesus spoke saying, “the Scripture [our Bible] cannot be broken” († John 10:35), which records that there are things to be accomplished in plain view of the world and the church before Jesus will return for is true church.

Meanwhile, I plan and continually prepare myself to be spiritually strong in my faith by what I personally believe is the likelihood that His coming will not happen until near the end, or after the conclusion of the 42 months of the antichrist’s rule. These spiritual preparations are of more importance than what I may believe about the “what and when” of future events.

Realize this also, brothers and sisters, just because Paul said that “we are not appointed to wrath” might mean that there is the possibility that God’s plan is not to remove us from the earth but to protect His faithful ones through even that most terrible phase of catastrophes upon the earth—preserve us through the entire Great Tribulation involving Satan’s wrath upon Israel, the church, and all peoples made in the image of God († Rev. 12:12), and then preserve us through the wrath of God upon the unbelieving and rebellious inhabitants of the planet († Rev. 14:7, 10, 15:1).

Either way it turns out we have nothing to fear ...

Either way it turns out we have nothing to fear because no matter how long we are still here, He will keep us as the apple of His eye. You must have strong faith to believe that and then walk in the peace it is meant to give us.

Stated another way, I do not know when Jesus will return although I believe that as “children of light” we will know the season of His coming (a short period of weeks or a month or so before He appears) and this is not that season yet—but I refuse to allow distractions or compromise or spiritual slumbering to disqualify me from being included in whatever the Divine God’s plan turns out to be of either rescue by removal or protection through possibly the complete range of all the disasters to come.

( )
† 1 Thessalonians 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation [no matter how it all turns out]. 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath (violent passion, punishment, vengeance), but to obtain salvation (to rescue, deliver, provide safety) by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. 11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

[And Paul also warned this regarding our comfort in such times:]

† Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting [encouraging, comforting] one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

[Paul wrote this some 30 years or so earlier than what Jesus said to Sardis here:]

† Revelation 3: [To Sardis Jesus said:] 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. 3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

† Revelation 3: [Jesus then says this to the church of brotherly love:] 7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; 8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. . . 10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep (guard) thee from (also through) the hour of temptation (adversity), which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. 11 Behold, I come quickly (suddenly [in a flash! Be up-to-date in your relationship with the Lord and stay spiritually clean daily]): hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

We've been  addressing  the positive & negatives consequences of  what Christians believe today  - the  “two-sided sword that cuts on both sides”
For me personally and more importantly, the two-sided sword on this is not about what “rapture view” I subscribe to but what I am being daily thorough about in the doing of the command of holiness made upon me and upon all true believers.

All the end-of-days prophecies will take care of themselves in God’s time no matter that you or I understand them rightfully or not. The fact of great tribulation before us living in the last generation is in-part to help us toward positive changes within each of us being saved—our growing individual surrender to God and complete conformance to His Word.

The negative painful stabs and slashes of the sword of these future events (if we can call it that in light of wonderful positive changes), [the negative] involves these painful aspects including the sacrifice of personal time, maybe redirected use of our physical resources, and the laying down of our long-held sinful ways and useless weights that we have allowed for an enjoyable but worldly life († Hebrews 12:1-4).

As I stay focused on my relationship with Jesus each day, I find these things are what must be sacrificed as I go to the cross for freedom from every carnal bondage that is still standing in the way of my thorough holiness before God.

We must  by our faith  read and trust the Word of God
We must by our faith read and trust the Word of God and He will lead us into-and-through the visions and prophetic times that are now beginning their fulfillment—or we risk failing in our faith due to carnal doubts and fears and unbelief of the sure Word of God.
( )
† Luke 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

† Ezekiel 12:23 Tell them therefore, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will make this proverb to cease [the whining disbelievers saying the Word of the Lord will not come], and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel; but say unto them, The days are at hand, and the effect of every vision.

† 2 Peter 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. . .

† Habakkuk 2:1 [Personal devotion:] I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. 2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. 4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

As the Word is written by the Spirit of God through obedient men for our very time, your and my taking prophecy seriously, whether we understand it or not, is another way of helping to influence us to have a lifelong pursuit of righteousness and holiness in Christ.

Prophecy in these last days for us as we see its events unfolding, proves that God is and that everything the Bible teaches us, especially who Jesus is and what He has said, leads to a sure and final ‘Y’ in the road of our individual existence one day.

When you die and when I die, will you and I be accepted or will we be turned away according to the record of our belief and faith in all that God has said in His Word—by our obedience to it(?) or did you and did I fail in these things?

As Habakkuk and Paul both wrote as a declaration of our required stand before God saying, “The just shall live by faith”, it is by sure and certain faith that we are saved by grace in spite of the tribulations we will endure.

I will continue to be ready to meet Him each day between now and then, and I urge you to live not casually but diligently in the same way—in the daily pursuit of righteousness and holiness.

Frankly, of the really smart men that in their opinions have opposing views they all say are based on the Word, I don’t know who has it right but what I can base my beliefs and my behaviors on is something the Word of God clearly states about these days, which is something I can understand: I am to watch (be awake and on-guard) while I walk in love and faith and forgiveness and holiness while every day and always being ready to face the Lord Jesus Christ and not be caught unawares and asleep.

My Last Words Are From The Word:
( )
† Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh

† Mark 13:33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. 34 For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. 35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: 36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

† Revelation 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; 8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. . . 10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. 11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
