What does one do when the entire world around them has absolutely gone crazy? How do you handle dealing with people who never allow the truth, facts, empirical evidence, or a boat-load of history, culture, and tradition to interfere with their thinking? In other words, just how do you deal with the insane people who we often refer to as "liberals", "leftists", "progressives", "socialists", "One World'ers", "tree huggers", and by and large, "Democrats"?

To be clear on this matter, it must be understood that we are absolutely dealing with a mental illness when it comes to the above amoral and immoral violators of decency. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it in the slightest. How can anyone make such a confident-if-not-vehement assertion? Actually, it’s easy. We have only to refer to scripture.

The Bible says this: "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" (2Ti 1:7).

It is the Godly person who has a sound mind. For the un-Godly, there only degrees of insanity. For instance, not all of our Founding Fathers were staunch believers in Christ (i.e. not all were "Christians"). Yet, whether deists, Unitarian, or just "my beliefs are between me and God" kind of guys, they understood right from wrong. They knew the basics of living in harmony and knew those dynamics that would destroy civility and cultures.

However, not all were in agreement and not all remained in peace when dealing with their politics and beliefs. From the very beginning there were those who actually resisted the founding a new nation apart from England. We who have lived in freedom for so long wonder, indeed, how and why many (the majority, in fact) preferred what we could call the "insanity" of living under a heavy-handed English monarchy. So, not everyone was completely sane at that early date in our history but they were not rabid soulless sociopaths like we find running our country today. What happened between the time of reason and this time of chaos and confusion where "good" has been declared "evil" and "evil" has been declared to be "good"?

As our country has (slowly at first while the foundation was laid) fallen into the hands of the leftists/Socialists/progressives, our collective sanity as a nation has ebbed in direct proportion to the conquering of our nation by these rubber room rejects. Insanity is now the norm and all sane people are a scourge to be dealt with harshly and even violently. If our Founding Fathers were to be allowed to revisit the earth, they would be promptly labeled as "terrorists", "racists", and "anti-government patriots" to be arrested and imprisoned.

The next reference regarding insanity is this:

"We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error" (1Jo 4:6)

There are only two spirits with which mankind deals. One it the Spirit of Truth (God's Holy Spirit) and the other is the "spirit of error" (or "spirit of un-truth" which is worldly, carnal, and even demonic because it is Satan who rules the darkness of this word and he surely isn't sane).

This means that there is a "spirit of truth" which is the "spirit of a sound mind" (Godly) and the "spirit of error" (un-Godly) which is the "spirit of an unsound mind".

So, how do we deal the insanity of this world? To deal with any "enemy" (i.e. any opposition to or any enemy of God and His truth and His sane people) one must be prepared (i.e. armed with truth).

The source of all truth is God's word and His word was made manifest in the flesh. He name is Christ Jesus, The Truth. It is He who is the source of all wisdom as well and is made unto us all wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30).

According to James, the servant of the Lord, wisdom is describes thusly:

"But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy" (James 3:17).

We see, then, that part of the dynamic/truth of dealing with the insane is being filled with wisdom so that we may remain in peace with both them and ourselves. This is why the Bible says this:

"Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding" (Proverbs 4:7)

When we dwell in peace, we are dwelling in Christ who is the "Prince of Peace". He is our high tower and we run into Him and are safe (Proverbs 18:10). We also put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:13-18) which protects us from the insanity of the world and worldly and whatever weapons they employ.

Did you notice that we are not dealing directly with the insane but rather are protecting ourselves and staying in peace so that the Lord will be present to lead and help us? Here's why:

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds)" (2 Corinthians 10:3-4)

We deal with spiritual matters and must do spiritual warfare. We pray for our enemies and remain in peace with all men as much as is possible (understanding that there may be a time when one must defend himself and what's his with force). Is there any other way to deal with the insane given that they are one hundred percent convinced that you are the one that's crazy and not them? There really is no other way. Arguing and being in strife with these intransigent people will not work. They have no ears to hear the things of peace, truth, righteousness, and, yes, sanity. That cannot be changed except, peradventure through prayer the Lord would save some. A head-to-head conflict will never work. An the old adage says: "He that is convinced against his will is of the same opinion still".

The Bible speaks loudly of such as these:

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away" ... (2Ti 3:1-5)

To be full of God's word is to be full of God's peace, full of His faith, and full of His wisdom (the four are inseparable and are congruent). Staying sane and protecting our sanity by staying in peace is the only way we can deal with the world and its plethora of sanity killers. Let us give diligence to do so.
