UP-DATE [#4] -- [December 31st]:
Today my good friend - A.L. "LUCKY" Lucketta - came up to Fresno for another Sunday visit. Since I'm still dealing with speech issues, "LUCKY" - as usual - did a lot of the talking, but it was really good to hear about what everyone in Porterville is doing.

As for my condition, I'm at a plateau and I am making slow progress. I don't see the doctor as much as I did when I was at Fresno Regional Center, but the staff here at Sierra Vista Healthcare Center make up for it. I am now taking oral meds for my medical condition, and they're still doing blood-work daily. And, they still have me eating baby-food from a blender.

My left hand is doing most of the heavy lifting - spoon-to-mouth duties - since my right hand has lost much of it's strength. I haven't been out of my bed since I arrived, and need to be prop up - by the staff - to sit up in bed.

The staff was reminded again that I wanted to be transfered to a facility to either Visalia or Lindsay, but it sounds like those chances are becoming slim. GOD Knows I want to get better and come home. So please, CONTINUE PRAYING for me and my wife. Mack out ...

UP-DATE [#3] -- [December 25th]:
On the day before Christmas, my long-time friend and Christian colleague - A.L.Lucketta - came to my next place of residence and rehabilitation - Sierra Vista Healthcare Center in Fresno - to deliver a few Christmas treats for lunch.

This change of address took place on Dec 21st, as therapy for my medical issues continues at this new facility. My hope - and still is - is to be placed in a facility closer to my wife and friends back in Porterville. But, that's up to GOD.

So, the question that everyone is asking, "has my health progressed any since my brain surgery?" Yes and No. Yes, I am alive and kicking, and fighting the good fight, but no, the road back home is piling up with more road blocks - professionally and personally.

And because of those last two road blocks, I NEED YOUR PRAYERS to remove them, and get back home. And the sooner the better.

UP-DATE [#2] -- [December 18th]:
Yesterday (Sunday) Porterville Post editor and friend, A.L.Lucketta, came to visit me again at Fresno Regional Hospital, and brought me an early Christmas present - (An Electric Shaver).

The next early Christmas surprise was by my doctor, who told me that a "MEDICAL RELEASE" may be up-and-coming soon, pending a visit from my oncologist, and few more blood and lab tests.

I'm still somewhat weekend by the kemo and radiation treatments, and my speech is still impaired, but my mind is strong. Hopefully, Fresno Regional will find a new place for me to recuperate soon - possibly Lindsay or Visalia.

So, KEEP ME IN YOUR PRAYERS, I still have a long row to hoe.

UP-DATE [#1] -- [December 10th]:
It's been some time since my last submission, and I wanted my readers to know that I'm still alive and kicking - thanks to GOD and some emergency surgeries.

First, let me say this, I have authorized Porterville Post editor - A.L.Lucketta - to fill in some of the blanks concerning my whereabouts and medical condition. He's been up here to see me at Fresno Regional Hospital just about every Sunday, since my surgery, and has connected some of the loose ends that needed attention.

“I'm going to need a LOT OF PRAYER
AND A MIRACLE FROM GOD” ... Sergeant Mack

Yes, I have a few more therapy hoops to jump through, so I can come back home, but I'm going to need a LOT OF PRAYER, AND A MIRACLE FROM GOD !!! So today, I'll let you in on what happened about a couple of months ago, so you all will know how to pray.

So, like I said, a couple of months ago, I had some severe head pain, so I went to a hospital in Tulare, and from what they could diagnose (brain swelling), they needed to quickly send me to Clovis Hospital to do an emergency brain surgery (crainiotomy) on October 6th to remove a couple of tumors. After that, I was then sent to Fresno Community Regional Hospital to recuperate and rehab.

Currently I am receiving chemotherapy and radiation treatments, which is exhausting - to say the least - but, just as bad, food that's been blended beyond baby food.

The RN did write down some of the medical terms associated with my condition, and one that's called "Expressive Aphasia" has me grasping for words - that are stuck in my head, but just ain't coming out the way their suppose to.

That's where my friend comes in ... A.L.Lucketta. For now, he speaks (and writes) for me.

On your FEET!!! Un-COVER !!

Again, I thank You, Heavenly Father, for the many undeserved blessings and, especially for the Gift and Sacrifice of Your Son Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior in Whose Name I pray, HOOOAAAHHH!!!

COVER!!! Dis-MISSED!!!

Sgt Mack Out closing station and leaving the air.
