Muster RIGHT Here - with Sgt Mack Stand at EASE!!!

Most of you Troops are probably too young to remember when another cesspool sludge dictator claimed the right to invade his neighbors to protect the ethnic germans living in their countries, from violence THE GERMANS had fomented. Just read your history books, see what the world did about it & see how many lives were wasted because of the stupidity and cowardice of the world "leaders". Other than the skin color, o(WHATTA)bummer looks (and sounds) a LOT like neville chamberlain, who betrayed england's allies for "peace in our time", which resulted in WW2.

Un-COVER!!! (Silent prayer or contemplation.)

Heavenly Father, the cesspool sludge are at it, again. I ask Your protection and guidance. In Jesus' name I pray. HOOAAHHH!!!

COVER!!! SEATS!!!

I remember a political cartoon showing nikita kruschev saying, "All we want is piece", as he broke off a PIECE of this country and that country.

There is an old saying that repeating an action and expecting a different outcome is the definition of insanity.

So, either o(WHATTA)bummer and the other world "leaders" are stupid, ignorant, insane, cowardly or complicit in russia's aggression, because they believe that russia is the rightful leader of the world, because they are all SOCIALISTS AT HEART, or whatever they have that passes (not very well) for a heart.

I remember, once, walking through the "tenderloin" district of San Francisco (at age 16) wearing a coat and tie and a "stingy brim" hat. I had learned (at a fairly early age) that walking "with a purpose", head up, shoulders back and looking the world in the eye would deter all but the most determined aggressors, while shuffling along, eyes on the ground, would invite victimhood.

No one accosted me, although one woman (?) looked as though she (?) considered striking up a conversation & decide against it.

The people who exude strength are, generally not considered prey for the predators of the world, because they find it less trouble to attack sheep.

This philosophy stood me in good stead when, for MANY years, I walked a mail route, without being bitten. The dogs I could befriend, I did. The others were shown an aggressive posture, much like the German Shepherd that was constantly lunging to the end of his chain and telling me what he'd do if he were loose.

One day he was and charged. Scared the dickens out of me, but I crouched in an attack stance and told him, "Come on, you #### ###### !!! I'll break you in half !!! This wasn't what he expected and he found urgent business elsewhere.

It was a pattern I repeated and very seldom had to spray a dog that charged me from the front. The sneaky ones I learned to spray, pointing my spray behind me. That worked well, too.

One day I was canoeing on a river that was "irrigation controlled" with weirs. As I portaged, a couple of stupid teen-agers thought it was funny to tell their big dog to "sic" me, holding his collar and pushing him toward me.

Hoping to avoid a confrontation that would have ended badly (for the dog) I turned so the punks could see my .357 (in my holster) and told them that if the dog came up on the levee, they'd carry him back.

It was amazing how quickly they found the dog's chain and secured him.

While none of this (especially the last) demonstrates any bravery, on my part, it does demonstrate what George Washington and many other smart people, throughout history, have told us, that the surest way to have peace is to be prepared for war.

I'll take that a step further and say that it includes ensuring that everyone KNOWS you are prepared for war. It doesn't have to be done in a belligerent fashion, just a matter-of-fact attitude that says that we are a peace-loving FREE people, who intend to maintain our freedom and need no one's permission to do so.

Unfortunately, as the last super power (if the lefties don't destroy us) this places us in a moral dilemma of "noblisse oblige", wherein our very situation of power obligates us to assist those who are weaker or to lose any claim to being a moral nation.

I realize that this is weighty stuff, for people who would much prefer (as would I) to occupy their time with pursuits such as football, baseball, basketball, tennis, golfing, couch potatoing (or my favorites) boating, fishing or biking.

If you have a conscience, you can't ignore the plight of oppressed people. The other side of the equation is that the strong GOOD guys need to lead the rest of the world against the BAD guys, or wind up facing them, alone.

Isolationism doesn't work and, like it or not, it is our moral, ethical and logical duty to use our strength for good, before it is too late.

O.K. Off my soapbox and on to more mundane matters.

Recently, my bank (at least for a while) decided to change their logo from a beautiful picture of the Sierra Mountains to a couple of "modern art (?)" pyramid shapes that look like something drawn by a 3rd grader.

Has the Bank of Sierra management regressed to such an infantile state as to see this as a beautiful logo, that represents the tradition and solidity of a financial institution?

In the military, we have a saying that has a TON of logic, "If it ain't broke, don't FIX it !!!" This philosophy saves countless man-hours of needless effort and much wasted $$$ that might, otherwise, be spent on projects dreamed up by some half (or less) wit who just wants change, for the sake of change or for the sake of saying, "I DID something !!!"

Of course, if they are rank enough (inside, military joke meaning that the higher some people rise in rank [authority] the bigger stinker they become) everyone is scared to tell the "emperor" that he is NEKKID !!!

The result is that stupid (or corrupt) people do stupid things, like buying hammers for $600 that cost $5 at most hardware stores.

Speaking of money, I wonder how much of the Bank of Sierra's stockholders' money went into the research firm's pockets that advised the creation of this ill-considered, ill-conceived, ILL-ustration that (quite frankly) makes me a bit ill, to look at it?

When I asked one of the managers if this was permanent or up for discussion, the reply was, "Permanent!" I can only hope not, as I like the decor of the offices and (if they are superficial enough to create this abominable logo) I hate to think of what they might do to the interior of the buildings. Imagine the intellect that created this eyesore changing the look of the interiors to match it.

The commercial that proudly announces their descent, from a conservative, dignified, institution to a fast-food looking, plastic "...little boxes and they're all made out of ticky-tacky..." says that it symbolizes their strength. Maybe I'm just not "hip" enough to appreciate their symbolism, but a picture of the Sierras, that have been there since the beginning of time and will likely be there after we have gone to our rewards, THAT is a symbol of the strength I want in a financial institution.

This change reminds me a lot of o(WHATTA)bummer DOESN'T care, the UNaffordable UNhealthy insurance scam being forced on the American public. It's being done (as far as I can tell) by people who don't care what the people think, who are affected by it because they know better than we do what is best for us. Sure is great that we have such intelligent, benevolent, folks up there, who can tell us what we (should) think. AIN'T IT GRAND???

A copy of this column is being sent to the corporate headquarters and I invite a response, answering the questions I have raised (especially about the COST of this change) and will give up the necessary space and ask the Editor to print a response.

I ask all of my Troops to send YOUR opinion to your local Bank of the Sierra and c.c me, so that I can tabulate the response. Who knows, maybe I (and everyone I know) haven't the "...eyes to see..." the "...wonderfulness..." of this "innovative" move into the future and we need to just shut up & go away.

MAYBE but, in the words of the "Monk" theme, "It's a Jungle Out There", "...I may be wrong, now, BUT I DON'T THINK SO..."

Un-COVER!!!

Heavenly Father, we ask Your blessings, to have the discernment to separate the good from the bad and cling to the good. We ask Your blessings, guidance and protection on our country and our guardians, wherever and however they serve. We ask that You guide our elected employees to bring our country back in accordance with Your will or give us the strength and wisdom to find those who will. In all things I thank and praise You and, especially for the Gift and Sacrifice of Your Son Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, in Whose Name I pray, HOOAAHHH!!!

God bless Y'all and God bless AMERICA!!!! HOOAAAHHH!!!

COVER!!! Dis-MISSED!!!
