Hey there "Young Guns" ! Welcome to Minerals and More ... where I go where no T.V. Jewelery Show will go. I'll take the time and go over "in detail" what you need to know about quality stones, jewels, diamonds, minerals and more. As well, I'll tell you about a couple of good digs in the area. I'm Bill Wyatt - Owner of the Sierra Jeweler. As a Graduate Jeweler, I spent 18 months in serious study to learn the art and develop skills of jewelry crafting (which includes metal-smithing, hand-fabrication, gemstone setting, wax carving, and other skills). I have been in the business for 7 years. In that time, I have gained valuable experience and knowledge to provide my customers outstanding services for their jewelry needs. I have a small retail shop and a complete repair shop. Bring me your ideas, and I can design and create a work of art for you. Since opening my own shop in 2004, I have gained a large clientele, ranging through several states. The Sierra Jeweler is located in downtown Porterville at 639-A North Main Street (in the Pioneer Plaza). My business number is (559) 789-0594. My current endeavor for knowledge, has led me to the lapidary field. Lapidary is the art of stone-cutting. At this time, I am learning the art of cabochon cutting. Many different materials can be used (quartz to opal). Currently my favorite material is opal. There are many types of opal, which are varied in color and quality. This will be my specialty in the future. Services include: repair, fabrication, appraisals, loose gemstones, watch batteries, and special orders, to name a few.
