»  (May 14-18 2008) - “THERE’S MAGIC IN THE AIR” - AT THE 2008 PORTERVILLE FAIR ! :
That’s exactly what you’ll find in every nook and cranny of the fairgrounds May 14-18, 2008 !

The Jr. Livestock shows will be the highlight under the barns culminating with the Jr. Livestock Sale Saturday morning, May 17th. Come on down and show your support of the commitment and hard work put in by the incredible 4-H and FFA exhibitors in our community by making a “Bid for the Kid”.

The Rotary Stage will be host daily to local entertainment with all you favorite twirleretts, dancers, singers, bands and more! Another new addition is J-Live Entertainment’s “Next Big Thing” talent competition as seen at Fresno, Kings and Mid State Fairs. Don’t miss your chance to showcase your hidden talents and a piece of the cash prize!

By popular demand, the 2008 Fair will wind down Sunday with a day of spicy Latino music hosted by La Maquina! Bring the whole family! The dancing will continue right up to closing time.

The proudest and brightest star of the whole show is Porterville Fair itself! Porterville Fair is a non–profit local fair that is run by a hard working volunteer board of directors graciously made up of local community members. Unlike all but one other fair in California, Porterville Fair operates without the support of State or Federal funding.

The fairgrounds are located on the corner of Plano and Olive in Porterville. Admission prices for the Fair are $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for seniors, $3.00 for children 6-12, 5 & under are free. For more information on Porterville Fair please call 781-6582 or log onto www.PortervilleFair.com.

Porterville Fair May 14th - 18th

The Porterville Fair Board of Directors is proud to present Butler Amusements, bringing a whole new level of carnival entertainment for each and every guest that passes through the gate. Guests will experience thrills, bumps, jumps and chills as never before at Porterville Fair. An actual roller coaster and carousel are just a few new things you’ll find. The Main Midway and Kiddie Land will both be expanded providing hours of entertainment and is available in the form of a “P.O.P.” (pay one price) unlimited ride wristbands for the first time. The new rides have the capability of thrilling up to 700 riders per hour. You’ll be pleasantly surprised to find how important the little details are to you and your family.

Pre-Sale coupons are available at the Fair office and throughout the community at the discounted price of $20.00 each. Pre-sale coupons will be available until 4:00 PM opening day, Wednesday, May 14th. Following that date and time, P.O.P. wristbands will be available in the carnival only for $25.00 each. Wristbands will be valid for 1 day of unlimited Butler Amusements rides! What does this mean to you? Better-clean-safe rides, more variety, at a lower price, with shorter lines! It’s a win-win for everybody!

The FUN ZONE continues to offer free entertainment for all ages. Don’t be afraid when you cross paths with “Turbo-Bot”, a 10 ft. interactive real live robot. You’ll be amazed by the magical illusions of Sean Watson. The kids will be filled with wonder at the stage show and flying carpet of “Steve the Pretty Good”. The little ones will fall in love with Fiona No-No, a very naughty donkey that sticks her nose into everything throughout story time with “Farmyard Follies”. Every fair has pig races at one time or another. Porterville Fair is bringing you “GASCAR” with farm animals of many different breeds racing to the finish line! After a winner has been declared, you can mosey over to The Great American Petting Zoo and have a little hands on time!
