Every fair has pig races at one time or another. Porterville Fair is bringing you “GASCAR” with farm animals of many different breeds racing to the finish line! After a winner has been declared, you can mosey over to The Great American Petting Zoo and have a little hands on time!

The Jr. Livestock shows will be the highlight under the barns culminating with the Jr. Livestock Sale Saturday morning, May 17th. Come on down and show your support of the commitment and hard work put in by the incredible 4-H and FFA exhibitors in our community by making a “Bid for the Kid”.

The Rotary Stage will be host daily to local entertainment with all you favorite twirleretts, dancers, singers, bands and more! Another new addition is J-Live Entertainment’s “Next Big Thing” talent competition as seen at Fresno, Kings and Mid State Fairs. By popular demand, the 2008 Fair will wind down Sunday with a day of spicy Latino music hosted by La Maquina! Bring the whole family! The dancing will continue right up to closing time.

The proudest and brightest star of the whole show is Porterville Fair itself! Porterville Fair is a non–profit local fair that is run by a hard working volunteer board of directors graciously made up of local community members. Unlike all but one other fair in California, Porterville Fair operates without the support of State or Federal funding.

The fairgrounds are located on the corner of Plano and Olive in Porterville. Admission prices for the Fair are $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for seniors, $3.00 for children 6-12, 5 & under are free. For more information on Porterville Fair please call 781-6582 or log onto www.PortervilleFair.com.
