» (Sept 19 2008) - McDERMONT TO OPEN THE FLOWRIDER AT PACKINGHOUSE PIER
LINDSAY, Calif. –McDermont Field House today announces the opening of the Flowrider indoor surf machine on Friday, September 19 at 4:00 pm. “After much anticipation, we’ve received the state’s final certification and we are now ready to surf in Lindsay,” stated Assistant General Manager Brad Albert.
The Flowrider at McDermont Field House is the Central Valley’s newest water attraction and the only indoor Flowrider surf machine in the state of California.
Flowrider sessions are sold in one-hour increments. The price for one hour of Body Boarding (Boogie boarding) is $12, and one hour of Flowboarding (surfing) is $18.
The maximum number of participants per hour is 20 for Body Boarding and 15 for Flowboarding. Groups can reserve the Flowrider exclusively for one hour at a price of $250 (up to 30 people). Reservations are to be made by calling (559) 562-3326. Riders must be 42” tall to Body Board and 52” tall to Flowboard and each participant will need to sign a waiver. The hours of operation for the Flowrider are Monday-Thursday: 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Friday: 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Saturday: 9:00 am to 11:00 pm and Sunday: 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
The Big Kahuna Surf Club is a monthly membership that McDermont fans can purchase. For $39.99 per month, each participant receives his or her first hour of the month free and then the remaining rides are half price.
To join, fans must pay the first two months up front, fill out a membership form and sign the waiver. The first 50 members of the Big Kahuna Surf Club will also receive a free rash guard.
