Print | Stalling for Obama
The Larry Fox Report - Sept 24 2008
by Larry Fox : fox@portervillepost.com

Today September 24th 2008 Senator John McCain announced that He would be suspending His campaign for President. Why?

I think that it is because Senator McCain knew that the Democrats in Congress are stalling on the bailout bill until after his debate with Senator Barack Obama is over. The Democrats know that as long as the economy is in trouble this will help their candidate against McCain. If they pass the bill before the debate this would make the playing field even. And that is something that they would not like.

Just the day before some leaders in the Democratic Party called for McCain to vote on the matter to show were He stands on the bailout. But when Senator McCain announced that he was coming to Washington to vote, the same Senators said “We don’t need him and that He would be a distraction to the work we needed to complete”.

As long as the economy and the stock market are doing poorly, this is an advantage for Obama and the Democratic Party. It’s too bad that this is true, because many Americans are not aware that the fault lies equally between both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party as well.

John McCain Himself warned in 2006 that something should be done about Lehman Brothers and Fannie Mae or that in the future it would hurt the country.

When Senator McCain realized what the Democrats where up to and then when they challenged Him the day before to make His vote known. I myself think that this is all Senator McCain needed to let Him make His stand and fight. It caught them off guard and they were scrambling all day to make a convincing reply to Senator McCain’s announcement.

McCain is a fighter and this is what He does best. The Democratic leaders in Congress made a mistake when they challenged McCain to make a stand on the bailout. I guess they got their answer.
