(Apr 13 2012) - Why do we allow the minority to rule the majority?
SPRINGVILLE, CA -- I am known to speak bluntly so if you don't like it then, either get over it, don't read, it or print it. The answer to the subject is that the majority allows this to happen by not speaking loudly and clearly. It also happens because the majority doesn't vote or if they do, they don't take the time to study the candidates or the issues so as to cast an intelligent vote. You see, these judges, in the case cited below were appointed by people you voted for! While much of this is answered in my book the main issue I address here is the court case brought by the Hikers Association to keep horses out of our wilderness areas.

(Mar 09 2012) - Fighting the war on Terror
SPRINGVILLE, CA -- You may think that this idea is funny and not take it serious but think on it and I think you may agree. I have stated in my book, "TOTALLY PISSED OFF" that we are in a war with Muslims and it can't be fought in the traditional way. We must exploit their weaknesses and I will explain some ideas to do so. While we Americans have a natural instinct to live the Muslims find glory in dying. The men have been indoctrinated from birth that when they die for Allah they will have 70 virgins waiting for them. We have to start educating them.

(Dec 20 2011) - DADDY SAM
SPRINGVILLE, CA -- While I was growing up we referred to our government as Uncle Sam. I think that was because our uncles sometimes helped us when we needed a hand. It was usually true of our uncles helping us when in need. It was also true of Uncle Sam giving us a hand when we needed it. Uncle Sam had a limited unemployment program to help us while we looked for another job. There was limited welfare during the 1950's and early 1960's. I call this the era of "Uncle Sam."

(Sep 20 2011) - Success Dam and Lake
SPRINGVILLE, CA -- There have been numerous articles and letters on this subject recently and more over the years. Ten years ago when the idea of increasing the lake holding capacity came up, the powers in charge suggested raising the height of the dam by 10 feet for many millions of dollars. My suggestion at the time was, and still is, mine the dirt during the low water season. There are 50 years of top soil that has washed into the lake which is a valuable resource.

(Sep 08 2011) - Reflections of my life at 80
SPRINGVILLE, CA -- God willing I will be 80 on 09-09-2011 and I think he is willing! I am in good health and in some respects feel better than I did 40 years ago. I am fortunate in that I do not take, or need, any prescription medication. I take a lot of alternative supplements which I credit to my health. I am blessed with a "heaven on earth home" and a wonderful wife (soon to be 36 years) to share it with. My "anchors" are God and Norma.

(Aug 20 2011) - Our government is addicted to war !
SPRINGVILLE, CA -- A recent editorial in the local newspaper, "Marijuana growing cause for concern" concluded with, "There are no easy solutions." I say there is if we legalize it, control it and tax it! Marijuana sells for from $1200.00 to $5400.00 per pound depending on the grade. Compare that to the cost of cotton which is less than $2.00 per pound! Now you can clearly see why marijuana growers take their chances in losing a high percentage of their crops.

(Jul 19 2011) - Congress-Stupid is as Stupid does
SPRINGVILLE, CA -- Congress spends too much time in session otherwise we wouldn't have so many stupid laws and Congress wouldn't have enough time to get in areas where they don't even remotely belong. Look at the case of Roger Clemens, the major league baseball player, who was called before Congress who questioned him about steroid use during his baseball career. Clemens denied using enhancing drugs but Congress thought there was evidence that he did. They indited Clemens and ordered him prosecuted for perjury. What, someone lied to Congress?
