On behalf of the Director, Pastor Rudy Ramirez, Staff, and Volunteers, we would like to take this opportunity to introduce to you, The Porterville Rescue Mission Life Recovery Center. Upon the initial formation of the Mission, it’s main objective was solely feeding, clothing and trying to meet the spiritual needs of the less fortunate in our community. It wasn’t until May 2006 that the Mission had a new Vision. Pursuing this new vision was Pastor/CEO Rudy Ramirez. With the new leadership of the new Director, The Porterville Rescue Mission is on a new journey. The Mission no longer was just feeding, clothing and trying to meet spiritual needs but growing into something more.

With the leadership and guidance of “The New Director” there has been a lot of change here at the Mission, some of these changes include two dorms, one to house “men” and one to house “women.” The Mission also now has a shower for the less fortunate to come and use if need be.

Also implemented was a “Life Recovery Program” for both men and women, this is a program that incorporates NA & AA, along with spirituality. We also educate our residents, “Adult School / Vocational School,” in the Program, on money management, job search; work ethics and time management.

The Mission also now works with C-SET “Dept. of Alternative Sentencing of youths,” C-SET “work experience.” We work also with Proteus, Probation “Adult & Juvenile” and the Court system along with CPS. We try to give people a fighting chance at changing their lives for the better.

The Porterville Rescue Mission has come a long way since the initial formation. The potential for outreach and growth from this Mission is exponential!! The Mission is in need of more bed space, and more food for our food pantries. The less fortunate families, out in our community, and out lying areas alone are increasing. We must meet these needs. Being a non-profit organization, without grants or government assistance, we rely solely on the community for monetary support, donations of food, and other supplies. Your donation is tax deductible and is used to assist those in the community that are in need. We are blessed with each donor as they give from their hearts. {pdf}
