IN GOD WE TRUST ... wins

PORTERVILLE CA. - The people have spoken and IN GOD WE TRUST wins !!! How important was this measure ? It was BIG ! So big that many Christians did contact the Post to say that they will be praying that this measure would pass. Having "In GOD we Trust" over the banner of our City Logo in the councils chambers was a fight that past Mayor of Porterville -- Kelly West -- fought and won. However, it was the next council who became skiddish and decided to let the people vote on it. And the people did vote !

Sometimes people become fearful, a reader of the Post said today, and decide to stay neutral. A case in point was Ron Irish - a freemason and another past city councilman - who told KMPH TV 26, "I don't need the city of Porterville telling me we trust in God or I trust in God, that's my choice and it should be outside the realm of government..." As most of the readers know, freemason's really don't know ... " in whom do they put their trust ? "

However ... Congratulations goes to one new city council member, Brian Ward and incumbant Pete Martinez. Brian - a mormon and newcommer to politics - had the local support of his wards {get it ?} and freemasons. Since both institutions are grafted together by Joseph Smith it's only obvious that these two religious groups would click up.

As for Cam Hamilton, he needs to grow up and act right. He needs to quit bulling people around. He needs to keep his campaign promises. He needs to give those people credit for setting the stage for all those things he took credit for in an ad he took out in a local news paper. And he needs to let the Chief of Police do his job. As well, he needs to step back and let another person become the next Mayor of Porterville. You've done enough damage !

In the 34th Assembly race, we congratulate Supervisor Connie Conway. The battle was well fought and we believe she will represent all of Tulare County evenly and fairly ... in spite of her nay-sayers.

And to Becky Maze we say thanks for letting the Post get to know you and your family better. We believe that GOD will direct your path and will show you what HE needs you to do real soon.
