PORTERVILLE 2010 TEA PARTY UPDATES

(Mar 04 2009) - TEA OR COFFEE ?
Letter to the Editor from "Al Watts" :
Al Watts : Porterville Tea Party Chairman Dear Editor -- Recently a Ms. Giddings wrote a letter which focused on her dislike of the Tea Party movement and the people involved in it. As I read the letter I could not help thinking how angry she seemed. She sounded like one of " those" people Nancy Palosi was talking about. Then I realized , it's probably just the coffee. Many of the facts in her letter were wrong, and she misrepresented what the Tea Party mission is. Being involved in this movement I feel compelled to respond. So who are these modern day Sons and Daughters of Liberty? I will quote from an article I recently read that defines our purpose better than I could. More ...

(Feb 15 2009) - WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE ?
Letter to the Editor from "Al Watts" :
Dear Editor -- The events of 2009 are a chapter in our history. What is of greater importance is what the chapter we write in 2010 will contain. The pending elections might be the most important in the history of this republic. This is how I see it. If the people of this country, through our election process, do not elect people who honor the Constitution and are committed to govern by it our days are numbered. The current administration is openly opposed to the form of government our Founders' intended. The founders believed government should be limited, balanced, and with carefully delegated powers. By Porterville Tea Party Chairman: Mr. Matt Cox
PORTERVILLE, CA -- Thank you Porterville! What a great crowd we had that turned out for our first T.E.A. Party. Let me start by apologizing for writing so late-between school finals, work, never ending computer problems and the usual family chaos it has been an extremely busy time here in the Cox household. I would like to personally thank all of the organizers who helped to pull this thing together: Marti Irish, David and Sally Prado, Roy Smith, Al Rollans, and the many others involved. I would also like to express thanks to Lucky Lucketta for his help and support in getting our word out and supporting us with his Porterville Post. I would also like to say thank you to speakers Mayor Hamilton, Councilman Ward and to the many others who got up to show their support of the people and to voice their opinions that WE THE PEOPLE will no longer tolerate an inept and self serving government.

(Apr 15 2009) - A TEA PARTY WAS HAD - BY TAX PAYERS WHO HAD IT
PORTERVILLE, CA -- Today in Porterville, a Tea Party was had … by those who “Had-It” with paying taxes without fair representation. All total, 20 some odd “give-us-what-you got” speakers laid hands on the mic at Centennial Park and Matt Cox – lead organizer of this years tea party – said, “These tax paying folks deserve a platform and today we gave it to them.” Starting around 11:00am the faithful began arriving. In about an hour, somewhere between 150 to 200 folks stopped by to show their support. All waited through Tea-Party speeches from the mic handlers - which included the Mayor of Porterville, Cam Hamilton and City Councilman Brian Ward. Petitions were brought and signed as information packets given out. Folks made their rounds greeting one another, as if they kinda knew that this was just the beginning … and it was. Matt Cox and his Tea-Party-Team assured the audience that this was in fact, the beginning and they were already talking about putting together something a lot bigger, maybe sometime in June or July.

(Apr 04 2009) - PORTERVILLE IS SET FOR A TEA PARTY ON APRIL 15
NEW WORLD ORDER EXPOSED : Post Editor - A. L. "LUCKY" Lucketta
PORTERVILLE, CA -- On April 3rd the Post met with a few of Porterville’s April 15th TEA Party organizers and again in private on April 4th. Knowing that other towns and cities across America were organizing TEA parties as well, the Post needed a few more questions answered regarding this gathering. One of the questions the Post asked Mr. Matt Cox was -- In the event that others wanted to attend but could not make it {for whatever reason}, are you planning additional meetings and assemblies after the April 15th TEA Party ? “Yes we do plan to have additional meetings this year, maybe another sometime in June or July. So far we are in the beginning stages and we need to hear from others in the community if additional assemblies are in the offing.”

(Mar 08 2009) - Taxes, Tea Bag's and Transparency
NEW WORLD ORDER EXPOSED : Post Editor - A. L. "LUCKY" Lucketta
PORTERVILLE, CA -- There's a storm abrewin'. What happens when good, responsible people keep quiet? Washington has forgotten they work for us... We don't work for them. Throwing good money after bad is NOT the answer. I am sick of the midnight, closed door sessions to come up with a plan. I am sick of Congress raking CEO's over the coals while they, themselves, have defaulted on their taxes. I am sick of the bailed out companies having lavish vacations and retreats on my dollar. I am sick of being told it is MY responsibility to rescue people that, knowingly, bought more house than they could afford. I am sick of being made to feel it is my patriotic duty to pay MORE taxes.
